Jack Eichel buried the game-winner with just eight seconds left in overtime, giving the Vegas Golden Knights a 3–2 win over the New York Rangers on Sunday night and extending Vegas’ winning streak to four.

Brett Howden and Tomas Hertl also scored for Vegas, while Mark Stone collected two assists, boosting his red-hot start to 20 points in 12 games. Carter Hart, in just his second NHL game since returning to the league, stopped 21 shots.

Rangers Drop Another OT Heartbreaker at Home

Mika Zibanejad and Alexis Lafrenière scored for New York, which fell in overtime at Madison Square Garden for the second consecutive day, dropping to 3-8-3 at home. Jonathan Quick made 26 saves in the loss.

Lafrenière’s seventh goal of the season gave New York a 2–1 lead in the second period, but Hertl forced overtime by burying the tying goal with 52 seconds remaining in regulation.

Eichel Finishes It in OT

After Hart denied Zibanejad during a scramble in the Vegas zone late in overtime, a faceoff reset play sent Eichel racing up ice. The Vegas star beat Quick cleanly for his 12th goal of the season to secure the victory.

Additional Notes

  • Howden opened the scoring just 36 seconds into the game against his former team.

  • Zibanejad’s second-period tally was his 11th goal, bringing him to 261 as a Ranger — one shy of Vic Hadfield for sixth in franchise history.

  • Hart continues his strong return, having also earned a shootout win over Chicago in his Vegas debut earlier in the week.
