Mitch Marner marked his 700th NHL game with a goal and an assist, and Mark Stone extended his scoring streak to seven games, matching a franchise record, as the Vegas Golden Knights topped the St. Louis Blues 4-2 on Saturday night.

Jack Eichel and Shea Theodore also scored for Vegas, which earned its third straight win. Theodore was playing his first game since Dec. 13 after missing time with an upper-body injury. Akira Schmid turned aside 17 shots in net.

For St. Louis, Robert Thomas posted a goal and an assist, and Jake Neighbours scored on the power play. Jordan Binnington made 21 saves as the Blues dropped their third consecutive game.

Stone sealed the outcome with an empty-netter with 2:24 remaining, tying the Golden Knights’ record for goals in consecutive games previously set by Max Pacioretty in 2021.

The Blues suffered an early setback when defenseman Philip Broberg, who signed a six-year contract extension earlier in the day, left just 1:35 into the contest with an upper-body injury after a hit along the boards from Stone.

Vegas continued a recent trend of responding after falling behind. Thomas opened the scoring just 53 seconds into the first, but Marner answered midway through the period by burying his own rebound. Goals from Eichel and Theodore in the second pushed the Golden Knights in front for good.

The win improved Vegas to 9-8-7 in games when allowing the first goal this season.
