Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen stopped all 27 shots he faced to earn his first shutout of the season, leading the Buffalo Sabres to a 2-0 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday night.

Josh Doan and Josh Norris scored for Buffalo, with Luukkonen recording the eighth shutout of his NHL career.

The Sabres, who are red-hot since the Olympic break, picked up their 10th win in 11 games and completed a season sweep of Vegas after also beating them earlier this month. Since Dec. 9, Buffalo has been the league’s most successful team, compiling a 31-6-2 record to take control of the Atlantic Division ahead of Tampa Bay and Montreal.

Vegas saw its two-game winning streak come to an end after opening its homestand with victories over Pittsburgh and Chicago, where it outscored opponents 10-2. The Golden Knights were shut out for just the third time this season and the first time on home ice.

Buffalo broke through when Adin Hill mishandled the puck behind his net, allowing Doan to capitalize by slipping a backhand shot off the goalie’s right pad and into the net.

Hill, making his fifth consecutive start, finished with 23 saves and has now allowed eight goals over that span.

Norris added an empty-net goal late in the game, with former Golden Knight Peyton Krebs picking up an assist.
