Jamie Benn scored the decisive power-play goal in the second period and Jake Oettinger turned aside 25 shots as the Dallas Stars edged the Vegas Golden Knights 2-1 on Tuesday night.

Oskar Bäck also found the net for Dallas, which extended its impressive points streak to 13 games with a 12-0-1 run.

Jack Eichel provided the lone goal for Vegas, while Adin Hill made 14 saves. The Golden Knights have now dropped three straight games and six of their last seven.

Dallas captain Benn, 36, continues to produce offensively with goals in three of his past four contests and 10 points over his last eight games.

Oettinger remained red hot in goal. His league-leading consistency has helped him reach 26 wins this season, and he is now unbeaten in his last 10 starts with a 9-0-1 record.

Eichel opened the scoring just 1:31 into the second period after capitalizing on a turnover at the Dallas blue line, beating Oettinger on the stick side. The goal added to Eichel’s strong track record against the Stars, as he now has six goals in his last seven games against them and leads Vegas with 72 points this season.

Dallas answered midway through the period when fourth-liner Oskar Bäck crashed the crease and buried a rebound to snap a 14-game goal drought and even the score.

Benn then delivered the game-winner with 5:44 remaining in the second, batting the puck into the net from the edge of the crease on the power play. The goal extended Dallas’ power-play scoring streak to 10 consecutive games.

Matt Duchene assisted on the play, giving him 19 points over the Stars’ last 13 games.

Dallas continued its dominance in protecting leads, improving to 27-0-3 this season when ahead after two periods.
