Jack Eichel tallied a goal and an assist, and the Vegas Golden Knights halted a five-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday night.

Ivan Barbashev found the net for the fourth consecutive game, while Cole Reinhardt, Pavel Dorofeyev, and Alexander Holtz also contributed goals in the win. Team captain Mark Stone added two assists for the reigning Stanley Cup champions.

Goaltender Akira Schmid turned aside 21 shots, including a highlight-reel glove save on Vancouver’s Pierre-Olivier Joseph in the second period that preserved a two-goal lead.

Canucks Continue to Struggle

Vancouver’s Elias Pettersson and Joseph each scored once, but the Canucks dropped their third straight and sixth in their last seven games. They remain rooted at the bottom of the NHL standings. Teddy Blueger picked up two assists, while Kevin Lankinen recorded 26 saves in the net.

Back-and-Forth Second Period Sparks Action

After a scoreless opening period, the game burst open in the second, with the two teams combining for four goals on four consecutive shots in just 2:30. Vegas came out on top of that exchange, building a 3-1 advantage.

The Golden Knights added two more goals in the final frame, pushing their total to 75 third-period goals this season — the most in the NHL.

Eichel’s performance marked his 21st multi-point game of the season.
