Travis Konecny delivered both goals for the Philadelphia Flyers on Monday night, scoring twice to power a 2-1 win over the Vegas Golden Knights and halt Philadelphia’s six-game losing streak.

The victory also brought an end to Vegas’ seven-game run of wins. Philadelphia improved its recent form to 6-8-2 after a strong start to the season and earned just its second win in the last eight meetings with the Golden Knights.

Konecny opened the scoring 3:46 into the first period and later netted the decisive goal while short-handed at 7:22 of the third. Both tallies were unassisted, giving Konecny his first multi-goal outing of the season and pushing his total to 17 goals.

Vegas briefly pulled even late in the second period when Tomas Hertl converted on the power play. Adin Hill finished with 15 saves for the Golden Knights, who were held to a single goal for the first time since mid-December.

Flyers goaltender Samuel Ersson turned aside 24 shots and came up with two key stops during a frantic 6-on-4 sequence in the final moments after Vegas pulled Hill for an extra attacker while on the power play.

Despite entering the game with the NHL’s hottest power play since Jan. 6, Vegas went scoreless on a season-high seven man-advantage opportunities.
