Mark Stone wasted little time in overtime, scoring just 25 seconds in to lift the Vegas Golden Knights to a 3-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Wednesday night. Jack Eichel set up all three Vegas goals, finishing with a trio of assists.

Eichel threaded a pass to Stone at the crease in overtime, where the Golden Knights captain buried the puck into a wide-open net to cap the comeback win. Vegas extended its season-best winning streak to five games and has earned points in six straight.

The Golden Knights had taken a 2-1 lead before Brandt Clarke forced overtime for Los Angeles, stuffing home Adrian Kempe’s centering pass with 1:27 left in regulation while the Kings had an extra attacker.

Braeden Bowman and Mitch Marner scored during regulation for Vegas, and Akira Schmid turned aside 22 shots to earn his third consecutive victory. Schmid’s strong play has helped steady Vegas in the continued absence of starting goaltender Adin Hill, who has been sidelined with a lower-body injury since Oct. 20.

For the Kings, Kevin Fiala recorded a goal and an assist, and Darcy Kuemper made 24 saves. Los Angeles has dropped four of its last five games.

Hill could return when Vegas comes home Thursday to begin a back-to-back set.
