Tomas Hertl delivered a dominant performance with two goals and three assists, and the Vegas Golden Knights extended their surge with a 7-2 win over the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night.

Jack Eichel added a pair of goals for Vegas, which captured its fourth consecutive victory and completed a back-to-back set after a 4-2 home win over St. Louis on Saturday. The loss snapped San Jose rookie Macklin Celebrini’s 13-game point streak.

Pavel Dorofeyev finished with a goal and an assist, while Zach Whitecloud and Shea Theodore also scored for the Golden Knights. Carl Lindbom made 18 saves. Mark Stone contributed two assists, though his goal streak ended at seven games, one shy of the franchise record.

For San Jose, Collin Graf and Alexander Wennberg found the net, and Yaroslav Askarov stopped 26 shots. The Sharks were also playing on consecutive nights after an overtime win against Dallas on Saturday.

Vegas set the tone early when Eichel opened the scoring midway through the first period. Dorofeyev followed with a power-play tally late in the frame, his 17th of the season. The Golden Knights pulled away with three more goals in the second, highlighted by Hertl’s power-play marker.

Theodore added an empty-net goal in the third, and Hertl capped the night with his second goal to seal the lopsided result.
