Logan Cooley erupted for four consecutive goals and a five-point performance, carrying the Utah Mammoth to a convincing 5–1 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday night — a sharp response after losing to Vegas at home just four days earlier.

The 21-year-old Cooley delivered the NHL’s first four-goal game of the season, raising his total to 13 goals and notching his third career hat trick. His offensive barrage included:

  • A breakaway goal early in the third to put Utah up 3–1

  • An empty-net hat trick goal with 4:19 remaining

  • A short-handed empty-netter just over two minutes later to cap his four-goal night

Cooley also had a natural hat trick earlier this season on Oct. 24 in St. Louis.

Dylan Guenther added a goal and an assist for Utah, and Karel Vejmelka was sharp with 33 saves. The Mammoth have now won two straight, rebounding from a four-game losing streak.

Ivan Barbashev provided the lone goal for Vegas, while rookie goaltender Carl Lindbom finished with 20 saves.

Utah jumped ahead quickly with goals from Guenther and Cooley just 1:17 apart late in the first period. Barbashev answered early in the second, but Cooley took over from there.

The two teams are now set to face the same opponent nextOttawa, on Wednesday.
