Jack Eichel struck twice and added an assist, guiding the Vegas Golden Knights to a strong 4–1 victory over the Utah Mammoth on Thursday night.
Ben Hutton and rookie Braeden Bowman also found the net, while Shea Theodore orchestrated the offense with three assists. Goaltender Akira Schmid backed the win with 25 saves as Vegas claimed its third win in four games.
Nate Schmidt scored Utah’s lone goal, and Karel Vejmelka stopped 29 shots. The Mammoth continued to struggle, dropping their fourth straight and falling to just two wins in their past 11 games.
After a scoreless opening period, the Golden Knights broke through with two goals in a 19-second burst early in the second.

Eichel opened the scoring at 3:09, sneaking the puck past Vejmelka for his 10th goal of the season.

Moments later, Hutton buried a quick shot through traffic to make it 2–0.
Schmidt cut the deficit midway through the period with his first goal of the season, but Vegas reasserted control when Eichel struck again at 16:51, finishing a breakaway sprung by a long stretch pass from Bowman.
Bowman capped the win 45 seconds into the third period by redirecting a point shot for his second goal in as many games.
Vegas improved to 7–0 this season when leading after two periods.
