Mitch Marner finally found the back of the net in his new colors, scoring his first two goals as a member of the Vegas Golden Knights, while teammates Mark Stone and Jack Eichel each recorded four-point nights to fuel a dominant 6-1 win over the Calgary Flames on Saturday.

The celebration, however, was dampened when Stone exited in the third period with an apparent wrist injury and did not return.

Vegas improved to 4-0-2, earning at least one point in every game so far — their second-longest streak to begin a season. The only longer start came in 2023–24, when the defending champions opened with seven straight victories.

Stone tallied two goals and two assists, while Eichel contributed four helpers, extending his early-season tear to an NHL-leading 14 points and five multi-point games. Ivan Barbashev and Tomas Hertl also scored; Hertl added an assist, marking his 300th career assist. Goaltender Adin Hill stopped 25 shots in the victory.

For Calgary, Jonathan Huberdeau scored in his first game back from an upper-body injury sustained in the preseason. Dustin Wolf made 14 saves on 19 shots before being replaced in the third period by Devin Cooley, who stopped eight of nine attempts. The loss was the Flames’ fifth straight after winning their season opener against Edmonton.

Marner — acquired in a blockbuster sign-and-trade deal from Toronto this summer and signed to an eight-year, $96 million contract — had six assists through his first five games but was still seeking his first goal. He didn’t have to wait long: 46 seconds into the game, he tapped in a loose puck at the crease. Later, in the second period, he deked around Wolf and lifted a backhander home on the power play.

The Golden Knights were perfect on special teams, going 3-for-3 on the power play — their first three-goal effort with the man advantage since November 16, 2023, against Montreal.
