Jack Eichel, Ivan Barbashev, and Shea Theodore each contributed a goal and an assist on Friday night, helping the Vegas Golden Knights secure a 4-3 win over the St. Louis Blues.

Nicolas Roy, playing in his milestone 300th career game, added another goal for the Golden Knights, while Mark Stone chipped in with two assists. Goalie Adin Hill made 19 saves.

For the Blues, Pavel Buchnevich scored twice and added an assist, while Robert Thomas scored the team’s other goal. Jordan Kyrou recorded two assists, and Jordan Binnington stopped 24 shots.

A historic moment unfolded for St. Louis as Mathieu and Pierre-Olivier Joseph became the first brothers to play for the Blues in a game since 1993, following in the footsteps of Rich and Ron Sutter. The Josephs are now the seventh pair of brothers to play for the Blues.

Takeaways

Blues: St. Louis is proving to be a resilient team. Despite playing the second game of a back-to-back and their third in four days—all on the road—they overcame multiple-goal deficits in their first two games. They battled back after falling behind 3-1 on Friday, twice reducing the Golden Knights’ lead to a single goal.

Golden Knights: The top line of Barbashev, Eichel, and Stone continues to shine. After accounting for five goals in the season-opening 8-4 win over Colorado, the trio was responsible for two more goals against the Blues.

Key Moment

The Golden Knights quickly responded for the second consecutive game after falling behind early. Pavel Buchnevich opened the scoring for St. Louis at 6:47 in the first period, but Eichel answered just 1:15 later, converting Barbashev’s pass during a 2-on-2 rush.
